Hat Lieberman: Stuff Ive Learned About Storyboarding Part 1

1. Be Careful of Theater Staging

2. Maintain Screen Side

not only the 180 degree rule, but establish a portion of screen area (screen left/screen right) for the audience to follow
when change of screen side has to be reversed, show the change in one of the shot (eg. lady walked from right to left)

3. Maintaining Screen Direction

adding in a neutral shot (direction neither left nor right) to switch screen direction

Hat Lieberman: Stuff Ive Learned About Storyboarding Part 2

1. Motivating the Camera: Cut

- show props which appears in the next shot in advance
- eye direction (look at something offscreen → motivate to cut to next shot)
- Character move offscreen and enter screen at next shot

2. Motivate the Camera: What it says visually

- put the audience advance the character (expect the reaction from the character)
- put the audience behind the character (anticipate what the character discovered)
